Comments
The Jetpack Comments feature integrates social media login options into the comment form.
When visitors leave comments, this site collects the data shown in the comments form: the visitor’s IP address, and the browser user agent string to help detect spam.
All data and metadata (see above) associated with comments are synced. This includes the comment’s status and whether or not it was classified as spam by Akismet. See more about what data Jetpack syncs.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.
The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Akismet
This site also uses Akismet’s anti-spam service. The information collected about website visitors depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter, such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).
Cookies
If you leave a comment on this site, you may opt-in to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.  Learn more about cookies.
Newsletter and emails
If you have subscribed to my newsletter, or you are a member of my website (you can log in), there is a good chance you will receive emails from me.
I’ll only send emails you have signed up to receive or pertain to the service provided. The name and email address you provide are used to send you emails. The site also logs the IP address you used when you signed up for the service to prevent system abuse.
This website can send emails through the Jetpack Newsletter sending service. This service is used to track opens and clicks on emails. This information is used to improve the content of my newsletters. No identifiable information is otherwise tracked outside this website except for the email address.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Content that is embedded on this site from other websites will usually behave exactly as if the visitor has visited the other website.

How long your data is retained
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is to automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For registered users on this website, the information they provide is stored in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
